Flooring Trend Forecast 2025

It’s never too soon to explore the new flooring trends for the upcoming year and get a head start on those design projects, so let’s dive right into the 2025 flooring agenda. Taking notes from this year’s International Surfaces Event, we’ve put together an overview of the must-have flooring styles that are top of every designer’s mind. In a nutshell: natural tones, authentic hardwood details, sustainability and large format products are already topping the charts. Whether you're planning a large-scale construction project or simply updating a space, our industry insights will help you make informed flooring choices that are both on-trend and timeless.

Classic Blondes

The blonde oak movement continues to illuminate the flooring world with a new line-up of lighter finishes that are shifting more towards warmer and neutral tones. These classic oak shades are the perfect backdrop for the "quiet luxury" interior trend which prioritizes a more timeless aesthetic, favoring high-quality materials over quickly revolving trends. These versatile, understated blonde tones will gravitate more towards honey oak, beige, and tawny hues to warm up interiors.

Natural Greige & True Browns

Shades of brown will emerge as a popular light wood alternative, with “Natural Greige” leading the way. This sophisticated shade shines with versatility, balancing soft grays with warm beiges for a beautiful shade that complements a wide range of designer styles. On a similar note, expect more classic mid-brown tones that evoke a sense of nostalgia, as well as the depth and character of rich walnut shades to infuse spaces with traditional elegance.

Sustainable Flooring

Looks and performance aside, the flooring market is leaning heavily towards clean and renewable materials that check all the right health and sustainability boxes. Products that feature recyclable, PVC-free construction, and utilize responsible forestry practices are in high demand and making a strong case with both designers and homeowners.

Large Format & Random Width Planks

  • • Wider size flooring planks in 7” or wider are becoming a popular choice, known for creating striking visual interest. The broader surface of the plank helps to highlight woodgrain texture and variation. Wider planks also ensure a more seamless, cohesive installation and give the illusion of a larger, more spacious feel.

  • • Flooring planks that come in random width lengths are perfect for channeling a more natural hardwood aesthetic when it comes to wood visuals. Our Weston Waterproof Hybrid Flooring is available in varying lengths of 7.2”, 4.9” and 2.3” for greater flexibility in pattern variation.
