Basic Maintenance

  • Regular sweeping to keep dirt and dust at bay will ensure a spotless, scratch-free finish.
  • Always avoid any harsh chemical products and opt for PH-neutral cleansers when mopping or spot treating. Avoid the use of vinegar as a cleaning agent as it is not PH-balanced and can potentially damage floors over time.
  • Make sure to use protective pads when moving furniture or appliances.
  • Protective mats/rugs should be used at entrances and in areas prone to heavy foot traffic, this will prevent excessive wearing of your finish.
  • Limit sun exposure and use window coverings in areas exposed to direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  • Do not use steam mops for cleaning, the harsh temperatures can trigger plank expansion, adhesion issues and wrinkling.

How to care for engineered wood flooring

To preserve the natural wood veneer layer and structural integrity of your engineered wood, it’s important to keep surfaces consistently clear of dirt and debris that can scuff the finish over time. Taking basic preventative measures such as removing shoes at the door, using doormats and runners in high traffic areas, and avoiding prolonged moisture are some of the most crucial steps you can take to preserving your finish.
